Mini Tennis (Lunchtime)

Take part in mini tennis lessons on a Monday lunchtime. The sessions will cover a range of tasks suited to the level of the group progressing from specific coordination skills to rally situations. The sessions will be taken by Lynda Flynn, an LTA qualified tennis coach with Inspire2Coach.

Reception Sky Blues After School Football Club

We teach children how to effectively warm-up before coaching them through fun and structured football drills that are designed to be progressive and engaging; working and developing individually and also as part of a team. We promote key values such as; Respect, Resiliance and Teamwork throughout, and always finish sessions with small-sided games or matches.

Y1, Y2 and Y3 Sky Blues After School Football Club

The emphasis for our after-school club is a fun introduction to football and at the same time we actively encourage good sportsmanship, promote teamwork, leadership and respect. Each session has a game based skills approach and finishes with a small-sided football match

Bayleaf Cookery School

Bayleaf Cookery School will be running an after-school cookery club at Swallows Campus on Mondays from 4 to 5pm. The club is open to years 2 & 3. All ingredients, equipment and aprons are provided. We make proper, grown up, genuinely delicious food, following a new recipe every week so the children get introduced to a wide variety of dishes and techniques.

Ballet Classes for Nursery and Reception

This is an activity that provides a good starting point for the youngest children in school, getting them involved straight away in the school’s varied activity programme. Nursery and Reception classes are specifically designed for the needs of the younger child, providing an introduction to a variety of skills in a fun environment.

Classical Ballet Classes for Y1 and Y2

Classical Ballet Class for Y2 and Y3 children will be a session providing challenge and technique study suitable for this age group. The classes will be focused on the examination syllabus with a determination to enhance pupils' technical skills.

We are fortunate in the Preparatory School to have access to LAMDA teachers who teach pupils extra-curricular Speech and Drama and Acting Lessons through into the Senior School. This means that there are a wide variety of opportunities for the pupils and it is sometimes possible to continue with the same tutor throughout a pupil’s whole school career.

Pupils discover a wide range of poetry and prose and learn how to interpret their meanings and experience a variety of skills including staging techniques, mime, role-play and improvisation.

Children will progress through a 10-stage merit system, enabling them to move on to full syllabus grading systems from KS2.

Mandarin Chinese Club

Recent educational thinking has highlighted the relevance of teaching Mandarin Chinese in modern UK schools. Primary school is a great time to introduce children to a second language; young brains can adapt to new skills with greater ease and fewer preconceptions.

My teaching style is fun, multi-sensory and highly interactive. After all, enjoyment and accessing plenty of practice are the best ways to allow children to excel at language. Employing visual, auditory and kinaesthetic methods in teaching and learning ensures that all children are involved in the enjoyment of language acquisition.
